Arlie Dale Donley, 79, of Curtis Avenue, Beckley, died Monday, August 28, 2017, following an extended illness.
Born February 9, 1938, in Abney, he was the son of the late Dan and Eula Corder Donley. He was also preceded in death by a brother Paul.
Mr. Donley was a retired coal miner having worked most of his career at Slab Fork and he was a member of the UMWA. He was also a very active member of the Bible Baptist Church in MacArthur, where he previously taught Sunday School.
Mr. Donley is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Patricia Fink Donley; a sister Jean Koehs; brothers-in-law James Fink and wife Annabelle and Gary Fink and wife Patricia; many cousins, including Rick, Phyllis and Lisa Corder and Jim and Fred Souk; several nieces and nephews; and by a host of close friends and church family.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 12 noon in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Thomas Shepard officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 11 am Thursday until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Ray Lambert, Danny Bowman, Bob Cook, Gary McClung, Rick Corder, Ron Lilly and John Blackwell with Honorary Pallbearers Bill Fritz, Bruce Cannon, Roger Bright and Pastor Wayne Holder.
