Arnold  Deck


Arnold Deck was born on October 11th, 1931, to Ezra J. and Thelma Leona Gamble Deck at Crab Orchard, West Virginia. He went to see his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 23rd, 2018, at the Charleston Area Medical Center.
Arnold married Lily Ailene Deck on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th, 1955, at the Crab Orchard Church of the Brethren.
To their union were born two sons, Mark Allen Deck on February 8th, 1958, and Kevin Ray Deck, November 15th, 1960. Tracy Lynn Cross is their daughter.
Preceding Arnold in death were his parents, Ezra and Thelma Deck, and sister, Marion Deck Tolbert.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, Ailene, are his sons, Mark and wife, Janet Donaldson Deck, Kevin and wife, Debra Canterbury Deck; grandchildren, Corey Deck, Kara Deck, Chase Deck, Chelsea Hicks and Madison Deck; a sister, Janet Lyons; and a large extended family.
Arnold was an outgoing person. A Christian, he sang with the Gospel Tones along with his wife, Ailene, Rita Harper, Arnold Bailey, Charles Asbury, Jerry Neal, James Asbury and Duke Maynor.
Arnold loved people and went to the Church of the Brethren all his life. This past November 24th, Arnold and Ailene were married 63 wonderful years.
He was always active in Christian work and took a shipload of cattle to war torn Germany in 1951 for the Heifer Project.
A "Service of Remembrance" will be Monday, November 26th, at 8:00 pm in the Church of the Brethren at Crab Orchard. The visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Monday evening at the church. The burial will follow on Tuesday morning at 11:00 am in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
