Belva's Story

Belva Leona Kinder, 91, of Bellwood, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at her home following a short illness.
Born November 28, 1925, at Layland, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha Fitzpatrick Coughlin.
Belva was a homemaker, a member of the Springdale and Layland Homemakers' Clubs for many years, a member of the Rainelle Moose Lodge and a lifelong member of the Rainelle V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4484.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Ban Kinder; 1 granddaughter April Johnson; 1 grandson Jody Johnson; and 2 sisters Helen Marie Kinder and Lillian Kinder.
Survivors include her children, Shirley (James) Henasey of Wilmington, DE, Norma (Sis) Henasey of Rainelle, John (Irene) Kinder of Huntington, Dorothy (Bill) Johnson of London, WV and Elizabeth (Libby) Scarnato of Bellwood; 6 grandchildren Jim and John Henasey, Brandi Henasey, Jonathan and Danielle Kinder, and Taylor Rae Scarnato; 4 great-grandchildren Kaela, Karissa, Elijah, and Josiah; 1 great-great-granddaughter Alannah; 1 sister Anna Bell Burns of Claymont, DE; and extended family and friends.
A graveside service was held Thursday, June 15, in the Chestnut Knob Cemetery at Layland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Avenue Suite 1100 N., Bethesda, MD 20814.
