Bobby's Story

Bobby Edward Gwinn, 82, of Meadow Bridge, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, in the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea, following a long illness.
Born December 14, 1934, at Kathryn, he was the son of the late William Howard and Lillie Moore Gwinn Sr.
Bobby was a drill press operator in Ohio until he retired. He was a member of the Meadow Bridge Missionary Baptist Church. Bobby enjoyed working in the garden and mowing his grass.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Louise Ratliff Gwinn.
Survivors include a stepson Samuel Gilkeson and wife Karen of Harpers Ferry; 2 stepdaughters Kathy Gilkeson of Charlestown and Melissa Coffman of Lewisburg; 2 brothers Wiliam Howard Gwinn Jr. of Meadow Bridge and Wilbur Gwinn and wife Vivian of Newark, Ohio; 5 nephews Keith, Brian, Michael, Mark, and Thomas Gwinn; 3 nieces Gail Gibbs, Connie Lewis and Sheri Miller; and a host of extended and friends.
Services will be 1 pm Saturday, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc. with Pastor Brandon Haskett officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
