Buddy Glenville Gwinn
Buddy Glenville Gwinn, 84, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019, at CAMC (General), Charleston, WV.
Buddy was born February 23, 1935, in Abraham, WV, to the late Clara Bragg and Emory Gwinn.
He was a graduate of Shady Spring High School, Beckley College and a trade school in St. Louis, MO. He served 27 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring with the rank of Chief, Master Sergeant, which is the highest rank possible for an enlisted person.
He accepted the Lord as a teenager and was baptized in the creek behind Ghent Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed gospel music, good food, football and basketball and the hills of West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia, and son, Scott, one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lou; sons, Dave (Amy) of Omaha, NE; Michael (Heather), USN, Portsmouth, VA, Lonnie Washington; daughter, Christine (John) of Griswold, IA; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, his beloved cat, Molly, and his special friends and "listeners" to his endless war stories, Jim and Linda Sizemore.
He was a kind and generous man who donated his body to the Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University and requested no service.
