Cecil Odell Ewing, 87, of Meadow Bridge, got his angel's wings Saturday, November 11, 2017, in the Charleston Area Medical Center following a short illness.
Born October 30, 1930, at Thurmond, he was the son of the late Jessie and Tenie Adkins Ewing.
Cecil was a miner and a proud US army veteran of the Korean War. He was of the Holiness faith and loved to read his Bible. Cecil was a creature of habit; watching the 6:00 o'clock news; eating his meals on time and he especially loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty; his grandson Seth Martin; 2 brothers Ralph and Oather Ewing; and 2 sisters Mamie Cooper and Evelyn Jones.
Survivors include his loving twin daughters Bonnie Martin and husband Tony and Brenda McClung and husband Paul, all of Meadow Bridge; 10 grandchildren Levi Martin, Luke Martin (Kayla), Nole McClung (Megan), Natalie McClung, Christopher Watson, Betty Watson, Cordell McClung, Faith Martin, Tony Martin, and Isaac Martin; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law Joann Crowe and husband Edward of Meadow Bridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12 noon Wednesday, November 15, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, with Pastors Mike Nutter and Al Whitt officiating. Burial will be in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
