Colleen Gray Akers Lamb Ellison passed away Friday, March 1st, 2019, her 92nd birthday.
Born March 1, 1927 in Dunn's, she was the daughter of the late Wade Virgil and Lula Conner Akers. Colleen graduated from Hinton High School and Beckley College. She worked for Gene Church & Associates and GC Murphy Co. She was a faithful member of Daniels Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time sewing, reading, gardening and watching WVU football games with her son.
She is preceded in death by two husbands, Leo Lamb and Don Ellison, her grandson, John Douglas Lamb, 9 siblings, Samuel, James and Elmo Akers, Garnet Richmond, Denetta Dillon, Shirley Lilly, Clara Cox, Ruth Okes, and Ramona Massey.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Linda Lamb Scott and husband Randy of Beaver, her son, Douglas Leo Lamb and wife Leanna of Daniels, two grandchildren, Sally Attilli and Steven Scott, four great grandchildren, Leo and Sofia Attilli, and Jacob and Kamryn Scott. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Rose & Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley with Dr. Howard Wilburn and Dr. Timothy Dillon officiating. Private burial will follow at Calfee Cemetery at Mount Tabor, WV.
