Connie Pizzino, age 89, of Elkins, WV, formerly of Beckley, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Elkins Rehabilitation Center.
Born on March 2, 1928, at Panther, WV, she was the daughter of the late Eugenio Dematteis and Ursula Bergonia Dematteis.
Mrs. Pizzino was a retired secretary at Central Elementary School in Beckley and was a long-time member of Maxwell Hill Baptist Church. She had made her home on Curtis Avenue in Beckley for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Pizzino, by a brother, James Dematteis, and by a sister, Marie Bartell.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, Michael Blaine Pizzino and wife, Carol, of Elkins, WV, and Dianna Sue Cook and husband, Bob, of Pfafftown, NC; three grandchildren, Heather Lane and husband, Randy, of Buckhannon, WV, Michael Pizzino and wife, Donna, of Clarksburg, WV, and Robert Cook and wife, Jennifer, of Clarksburg, WV; six great grandchildren, Jessalyn Cook, Tanner Cook, Sam Pizzino, Hannah Hollen, Kaitlyn Hollen, and Connor Lane; two sisters, Josephine Acord of Florida, and Theresa Brogan and husband, Woodrow, of Cool Ridge; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Maxwell Hill Baptist Church, 301 Teel Road, Beckley, WV, on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 3 PM with Pastor Ken Killen officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Prosperity. Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 PM until service time on Sunday at the church.
Pallbearers will be men of Maxwell Hill Baptist Church.
