Dallas Charles Bowling

Dallas Charles Bowling, 63, of Beckley gained his wings on Monday, November 19th, 2018, following a battle with cancer.
He was the son of the late Dorothy Jane Scalf and was born in Eccles on November 27th, 1954. In addition to his loving mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dean Scalf, Randall Scalf, Danny Bowling, Brian Bowling, and father-in-law, Shirley Gray.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sherry Bowling; sons, Mike (Tina) Hacker, Eddie (Jennifer) Bowling, Stanley Sweeney, John (Ashley) Sweeney, Ashton (Kaitlin) Sweeney; daughters, Tracy Bowling and Lisa (Richard) Moore; grandchildren, Riley and Kaitlyn Hacker, Bailey and Gracie Bowling, Nicole Willis, Tyler and Emily Moore, Hunter, MacKenzie and Madison Sweeney and Kaylee Hanson; sister, Wanda Wicks, brothers, Larry Bowling, Eric Scalf, Jeff Bowling, David (Jerrilyn) Scalf and Kevin (Glenda) Bowling; mother-in-law, Emma Newton; brothers-in-law, Arnold (Sherry) Gray and Alfred Gray.
Dallas was a retired foreman out of the Laborers Local Union 453 working for Gable, DeFelice and Halloway.
Dallas loved to live life to the fullest and was always happy. Even in the worst circumstances he would always proclaim that he was just doing fine. He was even compared to Superman because no matter how bad the situation was, he always overcame it.
Everyone knew that Dallas valued his friendships, because they knew he would be there to help or talk as long you needed to. Dallas loved being on the roads, fresh air, sunshine, his family and friends. He was just that way!
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 25th, at 2:00 pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The calling for friends will begin at 12 noon. Committal services will be Monday, November 26th, at 3:00pm in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to meet at Melton Mortuary by 2:30 pm on Monday afternoon. Online condolences: www.meltonmortuary.com
