Danny Lee Martin, Sr., passed away at his home in Tennessee on April 8, 2019 on Hospice Care surrounded by his family.
Born August 26, 1946 in Princeton, he was the son of Ernest Lee and the late Mary Frances (Hickman) Martin.
Danny was a 1964 graduate of Mullens High School. He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army from 1964-1967 during the Vietnam Era. Danny was in the 2nd Bn 46th Infantry First Armed Division, he was a First Class Gunner and Marksman. He later retired from the N&S Railroad as an Electrician.
In addition to his mother he is also preceded in death by his wife, Janice Cox Martin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Danny L. Martin, Jr. and his wife, Jenny Ann and Christy Jones and her husband, Keith; father, Ernest Martin; siblings, Brenda Thorn and her husband, Kenny and Gary Martin and his wife, Donna; six grandchildren, Nikki Martin, Jessica Martin, Josh Jones, Conner Jones, John Paul Lusk, and Andrew Lusk; two great grandchildren, Oliver and Marley Martin; five nephews; and two nieces.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with Pastor John Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
Military graveside rites are being conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard.
Family and friends may serve as pallbearers.
