David Bradford Morris
David Bradford Morris, 74 of Oak Hill, passed away May 1, 2019 after a long, hard fought battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born October 5, 1944 at Quinnimont, WV, he was the son of the late William Winfrey, Sr. and Edith Ashley Morris. He was the youngest of 13 children.
David was a US Air Force veteran and a 45+ year employee at Mt. Vending, Inc. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by 5 brothers, William Jr., Charles, Frederick, Robert and Raymond; 3 sisters Evelyn, Charlotte, and Barbara; 1 son-in-law Billie Blevins; and 2 grandchildren Angel and Bradford Champion.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years Ruth Lynn Aliff Morris of Oak Hill; his daughters and sons-in law Susan Blevins of Oak Hill, Paula & Mike Fridley of Fayetteville and Cheryl and Richard Champion of Oak Hill; his grandchildren Eric Barrett and wife Alaina of Oak Hill, Hannan and Ashley Fridley of Fayetteville and Brandon and Braxton Champion of Oak Hill; his great-granddaughters Serenity and Amelia Barrett of Oak Hill; his brother Tom and wife Barbara of Winchester VA; sisters Betty Spivak of Bradenton, FL, Marjorie Butcher of KY and Patricia McIntire and husband Frank of Hurricane, WV; countless nieces, nephews, and friends. David never met a stranger, just someone else to talk to.
David's family would like to thank Hidden Valley Nursing Home and Hospice of Southern WV for taking such great care of him. They would also like to thank special friends Denny Cole, Danny Hamilton and Gary Ray for being there all the way to the end. You all mean the world to this family.
A Celebration of David's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday May 4 at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors 1 hour before the service. Please join the family at this time to remember what a wonderful person David was.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Youth Dept. at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill, WV in David's honor.
