David Alan Rahall, age 65, was ushered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 12:20 PM, following an extended fight with cancer.
He recently retired from Honeywell as an Electronics Technician and was hoping for many years of enjoyment with his wife, Barbara and family.
David was born on July 21, 1952 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late, John and Mary Rahall.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Zion-Rahall, and his daughter Wendi Lynn Brewster and husband Aaron, son, Brian David Rahall and fiancee' Rachael Pease, and April Lyn Campagna and husband, Eric. David is also survived by the light of his life, his wonderful grandchildren, Samantha Rahall, Anna Campagna, and Robert Brewster. He has one sister, Gwen Skrabak of Hagerstown, MD, and one brother, John, and his wife Kathy Rahall of Princeton, WV. In addition, he is survived by his nephews, Heath, Nathan, Jonathan Skrabak, Kristopher, Sean, and Stephen Rahall, his nieces, Rebecca Norman, Andrea Rahall, and Tabatha Carter.
David was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S. in 1971 and later received an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering at West Virginia Tech in Montgomery, WV. He served in the Army from 1972 - 1975. He was honorably discharged rank E5. Returning to Beckley in 1975 following the family tradition of working in the Coal Mines, David re-located from West Virginia in 1986 to North Carolina, where he met his wife Barbara in 2004. They were united in marriage on October 2, 2010 in Monroe, North Carolina.
David was a devoted husband and loving father, who loved being with his family above everything. He also had a passion for working with electronic devices and playing chess.
Memorial Services for David will be held at Five Stones Church Community Campus, 1121 Cuthbertson Rd, Waxhaw, NC. 28173. Public viewing Saturday, February 3rd from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Service following at 1:00 PM at the church. The Pastor, Greg King will officiate. All friends and family are welcome.
