Debra's Story

Debra "Debbie" Lynn Gray, 61 of Mt. Nebo, WV, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, June 23, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 2, 1956 in Elizabeth, WV, she was the daughter of the William Dexter and Violet Irene Nichols of Spencer, WV.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father William Dexter Nichols and her grandparents Lee Okey "Fuzzy" and Opal Grace "Sugar" Shreve.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Paul L. Gray; two sons, Jared his wife Crissy and their daughter Addy of Charleston, and Justin his wife Melody and daughter Lilly of Bluefield, mother Violet Nichols of Spencer, brother Mike Nichols and wife Sherry of Clover, and sister Sherrie Burgess and husband Randy of Ripley, and many nieces and nephews.
Debbie was an active member and Lay Leader at Bethel United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Spencer Chapter of Eastern Star.
Debbie loved being a Kindergarten teacher for 32 years where she touched the lives and molded the minds of many children the Nicholas County School System.
A memorial service will celebrate Debbie's life at 2 pm at Bethel United Methodist Church in Poe, WV, on Thursday June 29, 2017. Brad Willis and Mike Hanks will be conducting the service. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Arrangements are being handled by Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville, West Virginia.
The Gray family sincerely thanks everyone for their love, prayers and support. Also, we appreciate the loving care and compassion we have received from the medical professionals and Hospice Care during Debbie's illness.
