RAINELLE [ndash] Donald Gene Pritt, 86, of Meadow Garden, Rainelle, passed away Saturday evening, May 12, 2018, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
He was born April 24, 1932 at Crichton to Okey and Bertha Cantrell Pritt. He had a twin brother, Ronald, who passed away as an infant. In addition to his parents and twin, he was preceded in death by sisters Pauline Pritt, Janice Arnold, and Reba Stevens, brother Okey Pritt Jr, and nieces Sue Rood and Nancy Stevens.
Donald was a 1952 graduate of Crichton High School where he was Drum Major for the Wildcat Marching Band. He served four years in the United States Air Force as a Crypto Operator. He worked 26 years for A&P Grocery Store until they closed. He then worked for, and retired from, Lewisburg Wholesale.
He loved his family, his fur babies, his friends, West Virginia, and the WVU Mountaineers. Don was a talker who never met a stranger. He will be missed.
Don is survived by brothers, Bob of Barberton, OH, James of Beaver, and Jack of Pataskala, OH. He is also survived by nephews and nieces he was very proud of and treated like his own children: Larry, Danny, Vickie, Jimmy, Mike, Doug, Lynn, Diane, Robin, Jacqueline and Jeff, 14 great nephews and nieces, and 6 great-great nephews and nieces. He made each of them feel loved and special.
Services will be conducted at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Rainelle at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, May 17 with Evangelist Shirley Fox officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Brothers and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
