Donald Franklin Wriston I

Donald Franklin Wriston I, 71, of Oak Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by love at the VA Medical Center in Beckley.
During his life, Don was an active member of his church and continued to serve the Lord even when he was unable to attend service regularly due to his illness. His faith never wavered and he walked through those pearly gates on May 5, 2019.
Don served his country as a proud member of the United States Air Force. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a postmaster after more than 30 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved to read. He was a 1965 graduate of Mt. Hope High School.
He was born in Kingston to Wanda (Meadows) Wriston and the late Webster Wriston. He married the love of his life, Regina (Bowyer) Wriston in May 1968. He will be deeply missed by his son, Donald Wriston II and his wife, Valerie and his daughter, Jeanine (Wriston) Robinson and her husband Chris.
He is also survived by his brother, Robert Wriston and wife, Peaches, his grandchildren, Derik, Grant, Gianna, Braden, Sawyer and his great-granddaughter, Emersyn and her mother, Hayley, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
No service will be held as Don made the generous decision to donate his body to the Human Gift Registry in hopes of helping others even after his death.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7.

I wasn't aware that he passed away. My mother (Margarette Ayers) loved him. You two people had the perfect marriage in my eyes, always so caring and giving. He is finally free of pain and with others on the other side. Prayers for you and the family as you deal with the sorrow and hollow spot in your lives. Yes he is gone but never forgotten, God Bless you Regina, prayers are with you.

Good memories, lots of good times. Debbie's partner in crime but always settled with a hug and a smile. Spread your wings and soar.
