Dorothy Mae Lovell
Dorothy Mae Lovell, 86, of Soak Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.
She was the daughter of the late Fred Wilson Farley and Bertha Gay Radford Farley Slusher. She was born February 6, 1933 in Sophia, WV.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of Bible Weslyan Church where she took great pride in singing in a trio. She was also a passionate homemaker who loved to cook for and take care of her family and home.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clifton "Buddy" Lovell; sons, Bobby Gene Lovell and Freddie Lee Lovell; daughter Sandra Kay Parker; and sisters Velma Frost and Joyce Farley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Johnny Wesley Lovell and wife Pamela of Beckley and Jackie Thomas Lovell and wife Nancy of MacArthur; daughter Sharon Jean Brown and husband Bill of Beckley; sisters Bertha Rakes of Beckley and Dolly Heath and husband Billy of Midway; granddaughter Sandy Mae Brown of Beckley and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She loved all her grandchildren dearly.
Friends may gather with the family on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 11 am - 1 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 1 pm with Pastor Gary Mills officiating. Burial will follow services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with family and friends to serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Bible Weslyan Church, C/O Melissa Bolen, PO Box 574, Cool Ridge, WV 25825.
