Eleanor "Janice" Wilson Billups, 89, of MacArthur, WV passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Monday, December 4th, 2017, surrounded by loved ones while in Lakeland, FL. Janice was born in Rhodell, WV on October 13, 1928 to Butler and Mabel Wilson. She lived in Beckley, WV and was a member of Sophia Baptist Church. Janice is survived by two sons, Michael Billups and Gary (Connie) Billups, 13 grandchildren; Dave (Karen) Graham, Lois Legg, Donna Graham, Karen (Mike) Hester, Kathy (Chris) Beckner, Lori (Bill) French, Sean Billups, Ian (Bebe) Billups, Matthew Billups, Gregg (Amy) Billups, Sheila (Jason) Derrickson, Daniel Billups, Wlliam (Denae) Billups, 24 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. 5 sisters; Lorraine Hatcher, Peggy Cecil, Rheda Gallimore, Paulette (Mike) Vines, and Pamela Wilson and her brother James "Kermit" (Betty) Wilson along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Frank Wilson, Colin Wilson and Gene Wilson, her husband Grover Billups, her son Greg Billups and twin daughters Marlene Graham and Charlene Billups. Janice lived in Rhodell, WV before moving to Beckley where she met and married Grover after meeting him on a bus as he was coming home to Pax on leave with the Navy and she was headed home to Beckley where she had been visiting her uncle Oat in Cincinnati. They were married at First Christian Church in Beckley. She was off to many adventures as a Navy wife. She raised 5 children and had a full and exciting life. They eventually made their home in Lakeland, FL. She spent many wonderful sunny years before coming back to where she always considered home, West Virginia. Janice was a helpful and caring sister, loving and wise mother, warm and inviting grandmother, fun and exciting great grandmother and gentle and generous great-great grandmother. She adored her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She loved children. She was always on the go and up for a road trip at the drop of a hat. Janice was someone that never met a stranger and always stepped up to help countless family members when they needed it. She always said "the fuller the house the better". She will be missed and treasured by many but we will hold on to the fond memories we have. Viewing will be held on Sunday December 10th at 2:00pm with Services to follow at 3:00pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home located at 5251 Robert C Byrd Dr. with family serving as pallbearers.
