Elevda's Story

Elevda Carol Maddy. In the early morning hours of February 9, 2018, Heaven regained a beautiful angel that was given to us for a season.
Born December 16, 1949, in Pipestem, Mrs. Maddy was a devoted Christian who chose to live her life for God, her husband, children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Maddy's work history included cleaning many local businesses, working as Manager of GoMart deli and running a convenience store with her family.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; mother, Mary Thompson Lucas; father, Fred Lucas; son, Anthony Maddy; stepmother, Florence Lucas; sister, Diana Lucas; mother and father-in-law, Jack and Mildred Maddy; brother-in-law, Dallas Maddy; nephew, Dallas Maddy, Jr.; brother-in-law, James Maddy and wife, Charlotte, nephew James Maddy Jr.; brother-in-law Raymond Maddy, and numerous other family members that she loved and cherished.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, Clinton Albert Maddy of Raleigh; her children, John of Sullivan, Teresa and Tanya of Oak Hill, and Patricia and Mike Sluss of Jumping Branch; four grandchildren that she dearly loved Johnathon, Nathan, Michael and Makayla; her brothers Donnie, Ronnie, Larry, Carlos and Freddy; sisters Edith, Maxine and Josephine; numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 2 PM, with Rev. Dwayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Keaton-Lucas Cemetery at Pipestem, WV.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Bowers Hospice House and Raleigh General Hospital especially respiratory therapist, Tim Coleman (who she truly loved).
