Elizabeth Johnson Thomas Allen, age 87, of Daniels, WV, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 22, 2018.
She was the seventh child born to William Reese and Lula Mae Johnson on November 3, 1930 in Daniels, WV.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Elmer Richard Thomas, known as "Ole Muscles" to many, of South Charleston, WV and Joseph Allen of Cozad, NE. Also, preceding her were three brothers and two sisters, Philip Johnson, Raymond "Bubby" Johnson, Arthur Johnson, Marjorie Bair, and Geneva Plumley Manning.
Ms. Allen worked at Beckley Manufacturing, Grants, Bigg Johnson Withrow Printing, EM Payne Company, Hills Department Store, and at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital as a nurse's aide.
Surviving are her son, Howard Thomas of Platteville, CO; daughter, Pam Thomas Elliott of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandsons, Howard II, Adam, Josh and Jesse Thomas; two great-grandsons, Aiden and Andrew; and three great-granddaughters, Nevaeh, Kerra and Mila.
She was most proud of her children and would be happy to brag about them at any time. Liz loved to have fun. She enjoyed time with friends and family, her flowers, and gathering and selling eggs from her chickens. On Saturday nights you would always find her listening to the Gaithers on TV. She was well known for finding a bargain. She loved life. Most of her life she attended Daniels Missionary Baptist Church. Her presence will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, March 2nd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday morning, March 3rd, 2018 at Daniels Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A catered reception will immediately follow the funeral service at the church.
Following the catered reception, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park with the funeral procession leaving from Daniels Missionary Baptist Church.
