Elizabeth Ann Farris

On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, Elizabeth Ann Farris entered into her Heavenly home after a long battle with cancer.
Elizabeth was born July 22, 1960, in Beckley, WV. She was the God-given daughter of the late Maude Esther Farmer.
In addition to her God-given mother, she was preceded in death by her birth mother, Bula Faye Washburn; father, George Bolen; sister, Arlene Redden; two brothers, Rocky Bolen and James "Jimmy" Bolen; father-in-law, Walter Elmer Farris Jr.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Beckley College with a Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing. She loved caring for others and was an excellent nurse. Even after retiring from Fayette Nursing and rehabilitation, she continued to care for those around her and spoke fondly of her former patients and co-workers. Elizabeth loved animals, enjoyed yard-selling and spending time with her family.
Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by those left to cherish her memory: her husband of 42-1/2 years, Walter V Farris Sr., of Sophia; two daughters, Julie (Ted) Mills of Sophia and Brandi (Ryan) Pittman of Sophia; one son, Walter V Farris Jr (Mary) of Beckley; one God-given son, Greg Stowers of Beckley; five grandchildren, Bethan Mills, Brianna Mills, Isabella "Izzy" Pittman, Connor "Buck" Pittman and Draven Pittman; a brother, Steve Bolen, a special sister, Essie Porter, mother-in-law, Billie Jean Farris, and a special friend, Beverly Landers, as well as a host of other family members, friends, and pets.
Services will be on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 2:00 pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The family will be receiving friends at 12 noon. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV.
