Elsie Lee Raines
Elsie Lee Raines, 81, of Highland Mountain passed away at CAMC on Monday, October 14, 2019 with her children by her side.
Born on July 13, 1938, at Highland Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Doc William Vance and Lillie Dell Adkins Vance.
The angels in heaven must be rejoicing to have received such a beautiful special lady.
She was a very caring and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She devoted her life to taking care of her family. Everyone that met and knew her, loved her. She touched many lives and left behind beautiful memories.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Raines; son, Johnny Raines; brothers, Kermit, Kenneth, Calvin, and Ronald Vance, Lloyd and Russell Smith; sisters, Juanita Blevins and Dixie Bragg; nephews, Chuck Vance and Timothy Blevins; nieces, Beverly Blevins and Veda Workman.
Those left to cherish her memory and blessed to have had her in their lives are sons, Dennis (Debbie) Ayers of Highland Mountain, Robert "Bobby" (Jamie) Raines of Highland Mountain; daughters, Debbie(Roger) Taylor of Layland, Drema (Curtis) Taylor of Piney View; brothers, Charles(Boo) Vance of Maplefork, Rex(Dana) Vance of Mount Hope; sister, Eleanor(Bill) McDaniel of Beckley; grandchildren, Mandy, Curtis Lee, Alan, Jessica, Chris, John, Erica, Charlie, Donny, Matt, Becky, Jasemine, Nicole ; multiple great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was deeply loved and will be sadly and greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Marvin Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Cemetery, Highland Mountain. Grandsons and family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of service.
