Elva Belcher Yost
Elva Belcher Yost, 92, of Beaver, formerly of Bluefield, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2018.
Born August 6, 1926, in Big Four, she was a daughter of the late Emmett and Bessie Ann Lewis Jones.
Elva worked for DHHR as a Social Worker; she loved working with children; following her retirement, she volunteered at the library and taught adult literacy classes, sharing her love of reading. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
Elva was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kimball, WV, and New Hope United Methodist Church in Bluefield, and the Christian Worship Center in Midway, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers, and two husbands, Plez Belcher and Jack Yost.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving sister, Maggie Holt-Smith and husband, Shailer, of Redlands, CA; a son, Vladimir Belcher of NJ; grand-daughter, Melanie Sabtchev of Boston, Mass; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; extended family and a special friend, Suzanne Rottenberry of Bluefield.
Services to celebrate the life of Elva Belcher Yost will be held 1:00PM Monday, September 10, 2018, at Roselawn Funeral Home, Princeton, with Pastor Eugene Blankenship officiating. Lucky Collins and Suzanne Rottenberry will be delivering the Eulogy and Wanda Smith will be singing.
Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Clarence Steele will be serving as an honorary pallbearer.
Family may gather from 11:00AM until 12pm. Friends may gather with the family from 12:00 noon until time of the service at 1:00PM Monday at the funeral home.
