Frances Ilene Hamilton Snuffer, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday morning, December 10, 2017 at the age of 63, after battling a difficult illness.
Frances was born September 19th, 1954, in Beckley, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1972.
She had careers with the Raleigh County Board of Education and in real estate. She lived her life in the Beckley area with her husband and best friend, Randy.
She was active in many churches throughout her life and was involved in a number of missions and charitable organizations. Frances was a lover of beauty and made everything that she touched more beautiful. Her greatest love was for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Her other passions throughout life included running, flower gardening, decorating, music, art, and time in nature. She enjoyed long drives with her husband and cherished time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader. She spent much of her spare time studying the Holy Scriptures and was especially passionate about the teachings of Christ. Her faith remained strong to the end; she was an inspiration to her caregivers over the past few months.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Francis Hamilton, and her grandparents, Sen. George C. "Spotsy" Porter, and Thelma Porter.
She is survived in death by her husband and lover of 45 years, Randy Snuffer, of Beckley; she is survived by her son, Dr. Ryan Snuffer and his wife, Kellie Snuffer; by her daughter, Amanda Richmond and her husband Christopher Richmond; and by her daughter Kelly Sweeney, also of Beckley. Frances also has six grandchildren: Kaitlyn Sweeney, Hannah Snuffer, Luke Snuffer, Teagan Sweeney, Zoey Richmond, and Jade Richmond, all of Beckley. She is also survived by her mother, Ilene Hamilton, of Deland, Florida; her brother, Robert Hamilton, of Beckley; and her sister, Kay Lange, of Deland, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at the Family Worship Center, 224 Pinewood Drive on 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 13th. The Rev. Ray Kirkland will officiate.
