Frances  Vass


Frances Vass, 84 of Rhodell, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019.
Born May 22, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Nellie Farruggia.
Frances enjoyed working in her yard, cooking for her family and church friends. She worked for Kroger in the deli department for 13 years and was an Avon representative for over 50 years.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Carl Eugene Vass; and sons William Joseph and DeWayne Vass.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Melissa Vass; son, Carl Eugene (Nancy) Vass, II; grandson, Carl J. (Jennifer) Vass; great grandchildren Eliana and Joseph Vass; sister, Tena Crook; her beloved dog, Faith; and her special friend who she called her adopted daughter Dee Dee Hogan; and many nieces and nephews whom will miss her dearly.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Rhodell Church of God with Pastor Gary Eskins officiating. The family will receive family and friends for visitation from 12:00-1:00.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Following the services she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, WV.

So sad to hear Mrs. Vass passed away. I grew up with her being my next door neighbor. She was always so nice. Prayers for her family.

You were always so good to us growing up. I remember you working in the store for your mom. Always smiling and being friendly to everyone. You will be missed cause you were loved by many.
