Frederick 'Fred' Mann II


Frederick "Fred" Franklin Mann II, 64 passed away on January 8, 2019, at Hospice House of Yadkin, in Yadkinville, NC.
Born on October 20, 1954, in Beckley, WV, to the late Frederick Franklin Mann and Carrie Eileen Smith Mann.
He graduated from Shady Spring High School. He worked at Sundown Stables in his earlier years as a trail guide. Fred had a passion for horses. He loved to share his horse stories with anyone who would listen, and he could ride!
Later in life Fred served as a detention officer for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department, in W.S., NC.
Survivors are from his first marriage, Melanie Elizabeth Mann Bonham, of Statesville, NC and Frederick Franklin Mann III (Christina) of Boonville, NC. He has four granddaughters, Amanda Hicks Quesenberry (Matthew), Samantha Mann O'Neal (Nicolas), Brianna Mann Alderman (Matthew), and Mary Nicholas. Three grandsons, Caleb, Carson, and Brody Mann. He has a total of eight great grandchildren from his first two children and the ninth is due any day now. His second wife, Beth Miller, his third child Kaitlin Mann, and one stepdaughter Hannah Beck, and five grandchildren from his second marriage. Also surviving are one brother, Rodney (Debbie) Smith of Bristol, TN and four sisters, Rosemary (John, "Bunky") Richmond, Sue (Freddy) Lilly, Margaret (Randy) Vandall, and Nancy (Jim) Ellison, all of Shady Spring, WV.
He was preceded in death by two brothers. George (Helen) Mann, and Roger (Dreama) Smith and one sister Elizabeth Rakes. Fred has many very special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
