Gary Wayne Keesee


Gary Wayne Keesee, age 59, of Beckley, WV, passed on Tuesday, May 14, 2019.
Born on September 15, 1959, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Richard Edward Keesee Sr. and Geneva Wozniak Keesee, formerly of Helen, WV.
Mr. Keesee was a social worker and team leader for Behavior Health Department of Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. He previously had worked at FMRS for several years.
Mr. Keesee was a graduate of Damascus High School in Damascus, MD, and a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and enjoyed gardening in spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother. Richard E. Keesee Jr.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include a brother, Charles Wilson Keesee of Beckley; two sisters, Delores "Cookie" Vaught and husband Jim of Fort Pierce, FL, and Victoria "Vickie" Halstead of Glen Morgan. A host of nieces and nephews and his special pet "Coco" also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at noon with Pastor Brian White officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

I have such wonderful memories of our reunions in Beckley every year. So thankful to have been a part of these summer family gatherings so so could get to know Gary and family. Send love hugs and prayers. Deborah. (Jasper Keesee’s granddaughter and Nancy DeCamp’s daughter. )

I worked with Gary for many years at BARH he was a good man and a good social worker. I gave him a painting I had done because he liked it so well , he told me he would like to retire in a place like that. He will be greatly missed by many people.
