Gertrude Mae Farmer
Born May 31, 1935, at Switchback, WV, she was the daughter of the late Elsvan and Albenia (Crigger) Johnson.
Gertrude was a member of the Itmann United Methodist Church where she served as the church secretary for several years. She was a custodian for the Itmann Coal Company. In her leisure she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family at their camp at Moncove Lake.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Everett W. Farmer; and several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Shirley Weaver and her husband, Charles of Bluefield WV and Florida; three sons, Everett Wayne Famer, Jr. and his wife, Dolly of Mullens, Ray Farmer and his wife, Kim of Beckley, and Bobby Farmer and his wife, Linda of Pierpoint; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; brother, Elsvan Johnson Jr.; sisters, Cecil, Barbara, Linda and Brenda, Ruth, Ethel, and Carol.
Services will be 12 Noon, Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Itmann United Methodist Church, Itmann, with Pastor Jason Stewart, Pastor Larry Dyer, and Rev. Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy be made to the Itmann United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 12, Itmann, WV 24847.
