Glenda's Story

Glenda Jean "Linda" Stone, 85, of Oak Hill went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 8, 2017.
She was a phlebotomist and homemaker.
She was a member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene and served in choir, Christmas and Easter productions, The Family Life Center.
She was a member of the Oak Hill Garden Club; served her local chapters of WV American Diabetes Association; and one of the founders of the Fayette County Soccer Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Stone, Jr., of Fayetteville, her parents, George and Lola Mullens of Summerlee, sister, Marcelline Rhodes of Summerlee, and brother, Marshall A. Mullens of Campbell's Creek.
She left a legacy in her children James "Eddie" Whitmore (Barbara), Roger D. Whitmore (Pam), Debbie Holly (James), ,John Whitmore (ReneƩ), Steven "Butch" Whitmore (Libby), Robert "Rob" Stone all of Oak Hill, Denise Clay of NC, Joseph D. "Joe" Stone III (Brooke) of FL. Her sister Peggy Davis of Beaver. She had 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Contributions can also be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Linda.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, 2017, 6-8pm, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Visitation on Wednesday 11:00 am and service at 12:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. Burial at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
