Glenna "Geraldine" Legg, 83, of Ansted, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Ansted Care Center, following a long illness. Born February 13, 1934, in Ansted, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Lottie Hankins. Geraldine was a homemaker and attended the Mountain Cove Missionary Baptist Church, Victor.
Geraldine loved listening to books on tape, embroidering, working jigsaw puzzles, and her pets, dogs then cats in her later years.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Cleve Ray Legg; two brothers, Clinton and Eugene Hankins, and two sisters Louise Adams and Delores Placinto.
Survivors include one son John Legg and wife Kathy of Charleston; two daughters, Terri Lanham and husband Earl, of Ansted, and Toni Halter and husband Paul of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Arlene Francis Johnston of Ansted and Mary Ward and husband David of Warren, MI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pete Placinto of Warren, MI, Margaret Hankins Delay of Ansted, Patricia Legg, Patsy and Clarence Crist, Pete and Carolyn Legg, Paul and Lilly Legg, all of Victor, and Peggy Brady of Hudson, FL. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren Megan Crist and Eric Lanham, Alison and Alyssa Halter, Salena and Chris Legg; and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Chapel, Ansted, with Rev. Harold "Buzzy" Legg officiating. Friends may gather with the family 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of the Ansted Care Center and to Arlene Francis Johnston and her family for all the help they provided Mom during her later years.
