Grady Wilson McGraw
Grady Wilson McGraw, 84, of Chandler, AZ, formerly of Athens, died Monday, August 5, 2019 at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ.
Born January 17, 1935, at Bellburn, WV, he was the son of the late Duffy McGraw and Mary Bridges McGraw.
Grady was a 1955 graduate of Smoot High School and later earned a certificate from a Washburn Trade School in Chicago, IL.
He served his country proudly with the U.S. Army.
Grady had a long career with the N & W and retired from Norfolk/Southern RR after 40 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Lee "Midge" Thompson McGraw; three brothers, Lloyd, Leon and Sherman McGraw.
Those left to cherish his memory, are his wife, Elsie of Woodstock, GA; six children and their spouses, Grady A. McGraw, Darlene McGraw, Michael and Rhonda McGraw, Debbie and David Poff, James McGraw, Dawn and Aaron Wilkinson; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Siblings, Virginia Dare McGraw, Myrtle and Ed Gill, Susie and Bill Chambers.
A time of sharing and gathering will be held from 10:00 AM until noon Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. at the McGraw Family Cemetery, Lane School Road, Meadow Bridge WV, with his son, Mike McGraw speaking for the family.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Heart Association, 5455 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
