James "Jim"'s Story
James "Jim" Hought, 86, of Danese passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley.
Born on December 28, 1930, at Lost Creek, Harrison County, WV, he was the son of the late Elonous and Allie Keener Hought.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Melvina Hamrick and Kathryn Brown; step daughter, Marie Simms; step grand-daughter, Tammy Donell; 16 aunts and uncles who were like brothers and sisters to him whom he shared a home with.
Jim was a member of the Meadow Bridge Missionary Baptist Church; a former deacon who loved and prayed for all, he was dedicated to serving the Lord and the church. He was a retired Manufacturing Supervisor and a US Army Veteran.
Jim liked the no fuss simple life and was passionate about country living. Throughout his life, he was an outdoors enthusiast; he loved fishing, hunting, camping, boating and 4-wheeling. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, a caring stepfather and step grandfather. He will be sadly missed. Jim will be remembered for his generosity towards others and his unwavering smile.
Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, wife, Helen Douglas Hought of Danese; 2 step daughters, Gail (Raymond) Maynor of Mt. Hope and Regina (Paul) Blair of Springfield, OH; extended family, the Klco boys, from OH, he was like an uncle to them whom shared a big part of their lives; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Mike Whisman and Pastor Brandon Haskett officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 until time of service. Per Jim's request, cremation will follow the service.
