James "Jimmy" Edward Tincher, 74, of Crag, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, in the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea, following a short illness.
Born June 1, 1943, in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Ethel Beatrice Miller Tincher and husband Howard Edgar Tincher.
Jimmy was born with Cerebral Palsy. His mother was told that he would never live past the age of 12. He was an invalid his entire life, never getting to do many of the things we take for granted, but each time you saw him, he had a smile for you. Jimmy never complained of aches or pains, though he surely had some. He was welcomed into heaven on his beloved mother's birthday, for he was always her baby.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Timothy Allen Tincher on May 15, 2013.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Vada Clay (Ray) of Meadow Bridge and Robin McQuain (Butch) of Rainelle; 2 brothers Randy Tincher (Rita) of Rainelle and Jeff Tincher of Crag, with whom he lived; and extended nieces and nephews and family. The family would like to thank Bonnie Brackenridge and Heather Rhea, who helped take care of Jimmy. They would also like to acknowledge the many sacrifices that Jeff has made through the years for the care of his family.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, in the Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Whisman officiating. Burial will follow in the Tincher Cemetery at Crag.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 12 - 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
