Jason Jeremy Mullens, passed away Saturday May, 11 2019, following a brief illness.
Born April 18, 1977, parents are Butch and Dail Mullens; his children, Gavin Xavier and Sawyer Avery Mullens; his siblings, brother, Chanon and fiance' Callie Thayer; sisters, Samantha and husband, Grant Ramsburg, Shyanne Mullens, Tina Mullens and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was an avid outdoorsmen who's hobbies included hiking, skiing and painting. Jason could often be found on a river bank searching for trout, hiking the mountains or doing his favorite love, whitewater rafting. Jason served in the US Navy having served on the USS Enterprise Aircraft Carrier. A 1996 graduate of Richwood High School, he went on to graduate from Mountain State University as a Phlebotomist. He worked for Townsend and Penn Line Right Tree Services respectively. Although arduous work, Jason loved the challenges that those jobs presented and enjoyed the physical aspect of tree clearing. His true love, however, was being a white water raft guide. Jason worked many years in the industry and was a favorite among customers as his quick wit, sarcasm and story telling were the cause of many repeat customers, no matter which company he worked for. Jason's fierce desire to tell the truth, 'shoot straight' and no nonsense attitude gained him respect and love from family, friends and even those who did not know him.
He was a loving father to his two sons, never failing to show his soft side when it involved them. Jason will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him but his legacy will live on through the countless lives in which he touched. ?"And the clouds in Heaven shall become as endless whitewater..."?
