Joann Beverley Metrick


Joann Beverley Metrick, age 84, of Beckley, WV, passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital on December 31, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Born on July 2, 1934 in Kilsyth, she was the daughter of the late Robert Beverley and Lena Adkins Beverley.
Joann was retired from United Bank after 27 years of service. She was a lifelong member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church and also attended St. Catherine's Catholic Church of Ronceverte, where she was loved by a very special church family. Joann was an avid crafter, loved crocheting and going to craft fairs.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Earlen Metrick.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Tammy Metrick McManus and son-in-law, Bryan of Lewisburg; her adoring grandchildren, Sydney Elise and Samantha Grace McManus; sister, Ruth Beverley of Beckley; brother, Harold Beverley of Fayetteville; cousin, Patty Barton of Fayetteville; special friends, Vivian Spencer, Linda Shafer, Lesa Hess, Donna Atkins, Nancy Tilley and Carlene Snuffer. Joann also leaves behind special namesake granddog, JoJo.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Boustani and Brenda, Dr. Karam and Kara Martin, Dr. Rajan, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Douglas and Lori, and all of her home health team.
The viewing will be held at 1 PM Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Beckley, with a Funeral Liturgy following at 3 PM. Father Chapin Engler will be the Celebrant. A Rite of Committal will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery in Beckley. Special friends will serve as pallbearers: Deacon Tom Soper, Steve Millhollin, Bob Spencer, Will Spencer, Bryson Hess and Dana Cole.
Flowers are welcome, however if preferred, donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes
