Johnnie Clifford Weeks, age 63, of Coal City, WV, formerly of Elyria, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017, in Winston-Salem, NC.
Born on July 15, 1954, at Fireco, he was the son of the late Clifford Maurice Weeks and Nora Pearl Bolen Weeks.
Mr. Weeks worked as a ship builder in Ohio for many years and retired from Pepsi Cola after over 20 years of service. He was a gun collector and enjoyed camping, fishing, four wheeling and stock car racing with his daughter.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jerry David Weeks, and his in-laws, Eleanor and Shelton Hamrick.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Joanie Standen and husband, Chad, of Elyria, Ohio; granddaughter, Elizabeth Standen of Elyria, Ohio; siblings, Dreama Lilly and husband, William Earl, of Sanford, NC, Wanita Carol Weeks of Sophia, Deborah Tucker and husband, Ricky, of Midway, Deniece Beckelhimer and husband, Toby, of Statesville, NC, and Joseph Weeks and wife, Tammie, of Coal City. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, December 29, 2017, at noon with Pastor Tim Mitchem officiating. Burial will follow at Hannah Lilly Cemetery at Odd, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home. The casket will be open during the first hour of the visitation. Pallbearers will be Timmy Lilly, Michael Beckelhimer, Nicholas Weeks, Denny Shrewsbury, William Lilly, Toby Beckelhimer and Scott Lilly..
