June Ann Taylor


MOUNT HOPE [ndash] June Ann Taylor (Junebug), age 84 of Maple Fork, died at home, June 19, 2019.
She was born October 19, 1934 at Artie, WV to the late Ernest Thompson and Frieda Williams Thompson.
June was a much loved wife, mother and grandmother. June was a retired Federal Mine Inspector, the first of two women to hold that position.
She enjoyed her retirement years wintering in Florida cruising the campground in her golf cart visiting her many friends and playing bingo. Here at home she loved spending time on her pontoon at Summersville Lake, her stain glass crafts, flower gardening, and feeding the humming birds.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Steven West; sister, Billie Smoak; and brother, Franky Thompson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 44 years, John C. Taylor Jr.; daughter, Cindy Trent and husband Kevin; stepchildren, Becky Vendetti, John C. Taylor III and Steven James Taylor all of Pennsylvania. Grandchildren, Justin Elswick, Tonya Shumate and husband Jesse, Stephany Canterbury and husband George. Aunt (sister) Ruth Dawn Keller and niece, Diane Barr; and her treasured cat of 20 years Zoey.
Funeral will be at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Friends may gather with the family on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
