King "Boyd" Sheridan Pettry Jr., 94, of Edwight, WV, went home to be with the Lord, on August 16, 2019, at the Pine Lodge Nursing Home in Beckley, WV. He was born December 17, 1924, to the late King Sheridan Sr. and Lessie Mae Pettry. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Mae Pettry Kyle and Mary Angeline Pettry Wills, and a brother, Joseph Scott Pettry. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Adams of Dunnelton, FL; a brother, Billy Ross Pettry, and wife, Betty, of Mt. Hope, WV; a sister, Anna Lou Shoup and husband, Dean, of Bloomville, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. He was a retired coal miner and a Veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed weight lifting and drawing pictures of Edwight. He was remembered to have a wonderful sense of humor. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, August 20, 2019, at two o'clock in the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV. Clergy Rev. Dr. Jean Kyle-Wright officiating. King, Rick and I have known you most of our lives. We are so sorry to see you go! Edwight and Stringtown were places dear to you and to us. Our families became intertwined over the years, and we are happy and better for it. You were a mighty man in your prime and always an appealing friend.
