Lonnie M. Johnson
Lonnie served faithfully as a member of Refuge Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, OH and was proud to be a part of the Usher Board as well as the Male Chorus. He was very passionate about encouraging people through songs for he was instrumental in ministering to those in hospitals, Senior Living facilities and occasionally he'd sing a tune or two at his doctors appointment.
Lonnie enjoyed watching sports and being able to discuss highlights with his daughter and son-in-law, especially when Ohio State was up against Alabama during Football season.
Through God's love, grace and mercy, Lonnie lived 63 years and was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Clarence and sisters, Rosalee, Lorine and Jerlene.
Lonnie will be truly missed by many, but certainly his living was not in vain for he leaves behind a legacy and his proudest accomplishment, his daughter Valinda, son-in-law, Anthony, his three beautiful grandchildren, Aysia, Anthony Jr. and Aalijah, also an enthusiastic great-grandson, Azriel, all of which reside in San Antonio, Texas.
He was blessed to have spent his final years with his long-time friend, Rene Lee of Columbus, OH. To further cherish his memories he is survived by his brothers, William, Charles and Johnny, his sisters, Mary, Irene and Annie, a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family and friends.
