On Friday, April 13, 2018, Mabel Elizabeth Duncan went to be with her Heavenly Father. She had been living at Genesis Healthcare, Severna Park, Maryland. Born on October 18, 1917, in Princeton, West Virginia, to the late Boyd Sr. and Grace Brown, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She graduated from Mullens High School in 1935 and married the late George Vernon Duncan in February 1936. She was a life-long member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church in Mullens, West Virginia, and enjoyed playing golf as long as she was able. Mullens Women's Club was a big part of her life. Besides her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son, Donald, her brothers, Ernest, Boyd Jr. and Carl, her sisters Mildred Mullens, Clarabell Waddell and Bertha Farley, and her grandsons Keith Heslep and Kenneth Duncan.
She is survived by her daughters Roselyn Heslep of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Donna Hensen of Severna Park, Maryland, grandchildren Jerri (Bryan) Lewis of McDermott, Ohio, Kevin (Dee) Hensen of Pasadena, Maryland, Roberta (Daniel) Jordan of Aynor, South Carolina, Anita Blevins of Salt Lake City, Utah, Chadwick (Jeanni) Duncan of Miami, Florida, Trevor Duncan of Independence, Kentucky, her sister Joyce Mullens of Roanoke, Virginia, great grandchildren Jeremy (Amber) Blackburn, Kara Redoutey, Brittney (Jake) White, Elijah Hensen, Keith Michael Dunn, Jaden Duncan, Laura Blevins, Bryan Blevins, Jeanne (Rob) Strickland, Jennifer Amon, Ron Amon, and many great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018, at 1:00pm at the Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Beckley, West Virginia, with Pastor Lewis Arnold officiating. Interment will follow immediately at the Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland Avenue Baptist Church.
