Mary's Story

Mary Louise Crane Morton Snuffer, 90, of Maiden, NC, formerly of Ansted, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in the Lincolnton Hospital, following a long illness.
Born April 30, 1927, at Alderson, she was the daughter of the late John and Ileta Selvey Crane.
Mary was a 1945 graduate of Rupert High School. She was a devoted homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mary may be remembered operating a teen center in Ansted.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers Edward and John Lee Crane; two sisters Jean Zopp and Amy Mann; 2 daughters Kathy Morton Willis and Nancy Morton Hypes; and 1 grandson Jason Morton.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, James Snuffer; 4 sons John (Kathy) Morton of Groveport, OH, Rick (Debra) Morton of Princeton, Jimmy (Tracie) Snuffer of Mount Holly, NC, and Michael (Robin) Snuffer of Maiden, NC; 1 sister Elizabeth Cardoza of Linside; her special and dearest friend, Rose Amick of Victor; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, in the Restlawn Mausoleum at Ansted, with Pastor Danny Legg officiating.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 12 - 1 p.m. in the Restlawn Mausoleum Chapel.
