Mr. Clarence "Hunk"'s Story
OAK HILL [ndash] Mr. Clarence "Hunk" William Wright Sr., 85, of Harlem Heights, died Monday, January 8, 2018.
Born October 7, 1932 in Brooklyn, WV, he was the son of the late John L. and Rena Spencer Wright.
He was a coal miner, honorably served in the US Army and was a member of Mt. Chapel Baptist Church, Ansted, WV.
He was united in marriage to the late Elizabeth Mae Crow in 1956.
Left to cherish precious memories are his sons, Mitchell Ware of Ohio, Gary Wright of Dayton, OH and Jeffery Wright of Columbus, OH; daughters, Brenda Wright of Richmond, VA, Natalie Wright (caregiver) of Fayetteville, WV, Elysa Wright of Richmond, VA and Ruby Greenhowe of Cross Lanes, WV; brothers, Reginald Wright of Richmond, VA and John L. Wright of Alexandria, VA; sisters, Margaret Bailey of Petersburg, VA and Minerva Lightfoot of Richmond, VA; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00PM Saturday, January 13, 2018, at First Baptist Church Harlem Heights, 416 Broadway Avenue, Oak Hill WV, with Rev. Charles Blackman Rev. Charles Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
