Neola Mae Sturgill Kaylor Vance, age 85, of Daniels, passed into Eternity on Saturday, February 10, 2018 following a short illness.
Born February 3, 1933 at McAlpin, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Donna (Jennings) Sturgill.
She was a 1950 graduate of Mark Twain High School and was a homemaker who spent her life caring for her family and friends. She was a member of Shady Spring First Baptist Church and had recently attended Cranberry Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Neola was preceded in death by her first husband, James Eugene (Gene) Kaylor; five sisters: Ann, Edith, Gaynell, Rena, Margie; five brothers: Clyde, Harry, Jerry, Lawrence and Leon.
As she continually blessed others, she was blessed to have found love again after the passing of her husband, Gene, and is survived by her loving second husband, Jack Vance. Also left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deborah and husband, Larry Lacek of Daniels; granddaughter, Melissa Lacek Carter of Juno, Alaska; grandsons, Christopher Lacek and wife, Casie, of Prague, Czech Republic, and Matthew Lacek and wife, Beverly, of Beckley; sisters, Drema and Dan Tolbert, and Marylou and husband, JC Lawrence; brothers, Herman Sturgill, RC (Hoppy) and Lois Sturgill, and Benny and Brenda Sturgill; great-grandchildren, Kevin and Jake Carter, and Joey, Jacob and Kelsey Lacek. Neola is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ann Farrar, Donna Kaylor, JoAnn Sturgill and Peggy Kaylor.
A celebration of Neola's life will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV, with the Reverend Billy Kaylor officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Prosperity, WV. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. and services will begin at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Joseph Academy in care of Lighthouse Baptist Church, 650 Grandview Road, Daniels, WV 25832.
