Randolph H. Miller


Randolph H. Miller, age 90, of Union, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Maple Leaf Health Care in Statesville, NC. Born June 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Roy Miller and Lucy Mann Miller Ferguson. Randolph was a member of the Springfield Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. He was a member of the Rock Camp/Wikel Ruritan Club, owned and operated Randolph Miller Contracting and had built several homes in the area, and served as trustee for Mt. View Cemetery in Wikel. He was a WWII US Army veteran. Also, he was employed by the Monroe County Counsel on Aging where he performed numerous duties before retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Edna Burks Miller; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include two sons, Gregg Miller and wife Jo of Statesville, NC, and Wayne Miller of Paducah, KY; one daughter, Debbie Whitney and husband Wayne of Statesville, NC; four grandchildren, Joie Miller and friend Heather, Joshua Miller and wife Sissi, Landon and Ainsley Whitney; one great granddaughter, Kate Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 21, 2018, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Elder James Boothe officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery in Wikel, WV. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the funeral home.
