Robert Eugene Bishop, of Princeton, formerly of Mullens, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital.
He was born at Bud, August 26, 1935, was the son of the late Ray B. Bishop & Bertha Knuckles Bishop.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Evelyn Wingo Bishop, his sons Jeffrey & Pamela Bishop of Bud, Michael & Teresa Bishop of Parkersburg, three loving grandchildren Adam Bishop of Roanoke VA, Stacie & Matthew Allen of Princeton, Joshua & Kara Bishop of Bud, and a great joy of his life two great grand-daughters, Oliva and Alyssa Allen. He is also survived by two brothers Noel D & Ruth Bishop of Woodbridge VA, Rodney & Sally Bishop of State Line PA, a host of nieces and nephews, family & friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mother & father in law P.G. & Mildred Wingo, brothers William, Homer, Donald, Shirley, sister Helen Lane and infant sister.
Bob was a member of the Mullens Church of God and attended the Princeton Church of God. He served in the U.S. Army with time the U.S.A. and Germany. He was a general mine foreman at Shannon Pocahontas Mining Company in Capels for 30 years. He served as an electrician and mechanic.
Bob enjoyed his time spent with his family, being "Mr. Fix It", and spending time at his camp on the Greenbrier River. His greatest title was Papa Bob.
Services celebrating the life of Robert Bishop will be held 1 pm Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Tom Lusk & Chris Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton.
