Rose Clifford Ross, 92, of Rainelle, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, in the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, following a long illness.
Born August 24, 1926, in White Sulphur Springs, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Effie Lilly Clifford.
Rose was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed needlepoint; working crossword puzzles, in ink; playing the piano; and reading.
Her greatest joy was in baking for her family and making candy at Christmas.
Rose was member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rainelle.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Honus C. Ross; 2 grandsons Tommy and Adam Ross; 1 brother Thomas R. Clifford; 3 sisters Lilly Lewis (Gordy), Agnes Stull (F.L.), and Teresa Livesay (Marvin); and 1 sister-in-law "Boots" Clifford.
Survivors include 2 sons Tommy Ross of Jacksonville, Florida and Michael Ross of Roanoke, Virginia; 1 daughter Cecelia Hall of Woodbridge, Virginia; 1 brother Leo Clifford of Callaghan, Virginia; 5 grandchildren Jennifer Aghazadeh (Komram) of Colleyville, Texas, John Hall (Sheila) of Woodbridge, Virginia, Sean and Phillip Ross both of Jacksonville, Florida, and Nikie Dyer of Salem, Virginia; 5 great-grandchildren Leila and Andrew Aghazadeh, Jack Christy, Tyler and Johnathan Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Rite of Committal will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
A celebration of Rose's life will be held at a later date.
