Roy Edward Bowden Roy Edward Bowden, 87 of Frankford, passed away unexpected at his residence on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.

Roy was born August 8, 1931 at Talcott, WV a son of the late Paul Preston and Grace P. Farley Bowden.

He was retired having dedicated many years to his business, Roy Bowden Moving Company where he worked on many houses and other projects. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church of Frankford.

He is survived by a son, Jim Bowden (Carolyn) of Frankford; a daughter, Carol Sue Bobbitt (Butch) of Orange Co., VA; six grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Bobbitt, Darrell (Trish) Bobbitt, Anthony Bowden, and Amanda (Shane) Wheeler; great grandchildren, Christopher Bobbitt, Hunter Bobbitt, Courtney Bobbitt, Corey Bobbitt, and Remington Bowden; and five sisters, Oassie Canterbury, Nannie Kounse, Margaret Cantley, Dorothy LeMaster, and Virginia Cantley. Also surviving is a special friend, Betty McCutchen.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Marshall Cochran, Pastor George Clarkson and speaker Jim McCutcheon officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Lewisburg.

Friends may call from 12:00 pm until time of the service at the funeral home in Lewisburg.

Pallbearers: Jim McCutchen, John McCutchen, Eric Bobbitt, Darrell Bobbitt, Anthony Bowden and Shane Wheeler.
Honorary Pallbearers: Denver Blake and Gary Morgan.
