Sarah Dona Bennett Adkins
Sarah Dona Bennett Adkins, age 85 of Shady Spring, WV passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 8 AM in Pine Lodge Nursing Home.
Born on January 28, 1934 at Abraham, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Bennett and Alice Plumley Bennett.
Mrs. Adkins was a homemaker and was a member of Open Door Church at Shady Spring. She enjoyed crocheting, working in her flower garden, and spending time with all of her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Adkins; brothers Howard, Clarence, and Charlie Bennett; four sisters Nannie Hunt, Stella Rouse, Della Todd, and Marie Adkins.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children; Alice Altice and husband Gary of Ghent, Lowell "Shotgun" Adkins and wife Linda of Daniels, and Daris Adkins and wife Shelby of Cool Ridge, WV. Seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and a special CNA at Pine Lodge, Cindra Siegler also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at noon with Rev. Orville Setliff and Rev. John Wesley Richmond officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Raleigh County Animal Shelter, Grey Flats Road, Beckley, WV in memory of Mrs. Adkins.

I never met her, but I am sure she is a related to me by my Grandmother Cora Plumey.
She was my fathers' Mother.
