Sidney "Leroy" Keaton, 69, of Pipestem, died peacefully early Friday morning, September 9, 2016, at home with his loving family by his side.
Born April 1, 1947, in Bellepoint, he was the son of the late Senate & Helen Lee Thompson Keaton.
Leroy retired as a tractor-trailer driver and drove for more than 25 years for Princeton Ready Mix.
He was an avid farmer, loved hunting, wild life and gardening.
A graduate of Hinton High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and of the Baptist faith.
Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years,
Karen Ann McKinney Keaton;
Two loving children:
Kimberly Hurst & husband Terry, of Princeton;
Sidney Scott Keaton & wife Stephanie, of Union;
Taylor Lee Keaton and Tyler Thomas Hyatt;
Curtis Pack and Barbara Keaton, both of Martinsburg,
Sue Jones of Wayside,
and Rebecca Clinebell, of Hinton.
A host of nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Sidney "Leroy" Keaton will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Gerald McKinney and Doug Steele officiating.
Full military honors will be provided by the Mercer County Honor Guard, with burial at the Cook Cemetery at Pipestem.
Friends may visit with the family Sunday, September 11, 2016, from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802.
