Teresa Croy Stanley
Teresa Croy Stanley, 63, of Don Morgan Drive, Princeton passed peacefully Thursday evening, June 9, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC with her loving family by her side.
Born March 2, 1953 in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Gibson Sr. and Lottie Rock Gibson.
Teresa was a graduate of Bluefield High School and later received a Degree in Psychology and a Degree in Christian Studies both from Bluefield College.
Teresa enjoyed a long working relationship with Bluefield College where she served in numerous offices including the Dean of Students and Athletics. Upon her retirement from Bluefield College she was the Director of Alumni Relations.
Teresa was well grounded in the word of the Lord, having been a pastor's wife most of her life, she devoted her life in speaking to many women's organizations. She also played the piano in churches and for several music groups. Teresa had a servant's heart and loved ministering alongside her husband Jim.
Teresa loved to cook, talk on the phone, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Pettry. Teresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and most of all, a follower of Jesus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernie Croy, siblings, Nancy Ann Gibson, Roy L. Gibson Jr., and a niece, Sheila Williams.
Those left to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband of 15 years, Jim Stanley, her two sons, Andrew Wesley & Melanie Croy of Princeton, Jason Lee & Nikki Croy of Royston GA, two step daughters, Becky & Justin Hodge of Beckley, Angie & David Bogle of Bluefield VA, and a step son, Ben Stanley of Indianapolis IN. six grandchildren, Noah & Emma, Jayden & Kondee, Kaleb & Brianna. Her only remaining sibling, Susie Pugh of Bluefield, a sister in law, Deloris Gibson of Dublin VA.
Services to celebrate the wonderful life of Teresa Croy Stanley will be held 1 pm Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road near Princeton with her two sons speaking, Andy & Jason. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit one hour prior to services at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Alvis, Mike White, Mark Williams, Sam Croy, Billy Harvey, Danny Sarver and Datise Reed.
The Lord said, "Welcome Home" Teresa, Thy good and faithful servant.
The Stanley family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
