Virginia Dare Wills, "Jenny", 87, of Shady Spring, went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2018.
Born on March 3, 1930 in Lilly, WV, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Thurley Ware Lilly.
Virginia enjoyed making beaded baskets for her family and friends. She had a great love for children. Along with her husband, she was a foster parent in the emergency care system to 399 children. She worked as a specialized care provider with her husband until her retirement in 2000.
She was a member of the Baptist faith. She was married to Carl R. Wills for 68 years until his death in 2014.
In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia is preceded in death by brothers, Fredrick Lilly, William Boyd Lilly, and Dewey Lee "Buddy" McGlocklin; a daughter, and son-in-law, Connie and David Richmond; two daughters-in-law, Melissa Johnson and Beatrice Wills; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Walter Wills of Cleveland, OH, Randy Johnson, Ronnie Johnson and Ricky Johnson (Becky), all of Shady Spring; daughters, Betty Evans (Roger), Linda Deeds, Wanda Osborne (Gary), Michelle Wills, and Virgie Kincaid, all of Shady Spring; a sister, Betty Dace of Gilbraltar, MI; a brother, Charles "Tom" Lilly of St. Petersburg, FL; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home, with Pastor Ernie Moye officiating. Burial will follow the service in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers honoring Virginia will be Brandon Aurednik, Dennis Adkins Jr., Joseph Johnson, Isiah Johnson, Donald Richmond and Dakota Osborne.
